Heart Tug

As much as I try to fight it, I know I can't hide it,

A battle within, emotions swirling, desperate to escape.

Fear, that dark sentinel, stands guard, warning me away,

Yet the heart, relentless, beats a rhythm I cannot ignore.

A bullet aimed, I thought to dodge,

But you, brave and selfless, took the hit.

Bleeding love, a wound so deep,

A crimson stain on the fabric of us.

Love's marathon, a tireless chase,

A pursuit of something just out of reach.

The bitterness of fear, sharp, cold,

A taste I never wanted to know.

Yet here I am, tripping, stumbling,

Swayed by a potion, by your love's intoxication.

A pull so powerful, so magnetic,

I'm caught, entranced, lost in you.

Regret, like a shadow, lingers, haunting,

But surrender beckons, warm and inviting.

For this love, raw, untamed,

Is a force of nature, uncontrollable.

And so I fall, deeper, headlong,

Into the abyss of emotion, the chasm of you.

Despite the fear, despite the dread,

Love wins, always, in the end.
